Author informations:

Jaroslav Róna is a Czech painter and sculptor who has risen to fame in the second half of the 80s as a member of The Tvrdohlaví Group (Stubborn Ones). He is also known as an actor and set designer. As a painter and sculptor, his sculptural works are often found in public spaces. His creations are known for unique topics, his German expressionism inspired iconography, which overtime evolved into his very own distinct aesthetics known for being full-bodied, elemental, and primordial, with an archetypal treatment of painting’s substance and bronze. This is also reflected in his own topics, which span from visualizing Christian motives and examining man as the very beginning of several historical civilizations (European, Latin and Aztec) to myths.
