Mária Balážová dedicated her life the radical form of geometrical abstraction. Since 1992 she settled in medium of panting with serpent motive. For Balážová painting is motherboard into which she inserts the encoded sign system and in that way she defines her symbolic world of the serpent shapes. During the years we can notice only three colour phases in her work. Adter the initial yellow background with a pointilistic multicoloured serpent body, come s a black serpent line on grey background, that is surpassed by bloodred background. Sober colouring is followed by an even bigger reduction of the shape and compression of the composition.
