Sadovská Dorota (1973)

Dorota Sadovská was born, lives and works in Bratislava. She ranks among the most outstanding artists on the local stage that she entered in the mid-1990s, when she started her creative activities primarily in painting that at that time was out of the main focus of interest. Her entire creative work is based on constantly re-occurring paradoxical situations. The artist can deny traditional pictorial concepts and simultaneously annihilate and cast doubt over her own approach. She engages in sophisticated dialogue with viewers of her art and uses her artistic program to provoke them to ponder the meaning, function and status of contemporary painting. Her works typically feature incessant examining, analyzing, verifying and recycling painting – and finding where it overlaps other media and the exhibition spaces as well.
