Malinová Pavla (1985)

Pavla Malinová mainly focuses on oil paintings, which she likes to pepper with different materials. She transforms her experience in drawing into a linear and flat, formal language, shifting the robustness of the figures and pictograms into objects and their creation. She builds the painting intuitively, without complicated study sketches. She does not plan individual steps ahead, which makes the narrative of her work seemingly impenetrable. Malinová was born in Vsetín, and lives and works in Prague. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava, studying in the Studio headed by František Kowolski. In 2013 she won the Rudolf Schlattauer Prize. Currently she is a finalist of Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2019.
