Kristína Bukovčáková started her studies at the Art Academy in Banska Bystrica in 2011 and attended a study stay at the Academy of Arts in Krakow in 2013 and currently continues her studies at the Inter-Media Confrontation Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (Jiří David and Milan Salák studio). She lives and works in Prague and Prievidza. She is the winner of the 2016 VÚB Foundation Prize for a painting by young artists and in 2015 she ranked 2nd in this competition. Her contemporary focus is on reflecting humans and their relation to the environment and opens space to viewers for their own imagination and considerations of hinted at figural ideas and stories.
